Architecture Concepts
Core SPECTRALE concepts including projects, components, dependencies, discovery evidence, and agent connections.
Project
A project is the primary workspace for a software architecture.
It provides the context for Discovery, architectural components, relationships, and MCP access.
Component
A component is a modeled part of the software environment.
It may represent an application, service, repository, database, external endpoint, or another technical resource.
Dependency
A dependency is a relationship between components.
Dependencies help describe how different parts of a system rely on or interact with one another.
Discovery Evidence
Discovery evidence is technical information used to identify components and relationships.
Evidence may originate from source code, configuration, metadata, or other supported discovery sources.
External Boundary
An external boundary represents a relationship to a system outside the immediate architecture context.
Detecting a boundary does not imply authenticated access to the external system.
Architecture Graph
The architecture graph is the structured representation of components and their relationships.
It provides a common foundation for Workspace visualization and MCP-accessible architectural context.
Agent Connection
An agent connection represents authorized access from an AI client to SPECTRALE.
Its permissions determine which projects and tools may be used.
MCP Tool
An MCP tool is a callable capability exposed by the MCP server.
SPECTRALE's current tools provide read-only access to architectural information.
